A year ago, Google launched an app called Primer, offering short marketing lessons aimed at startups to reduce the gap between people new to marketing and digital marketing specialists. The idea is to explain a specific topic such as growth hacking or SEO/SEM in a matter of minutes, using a “jargon-free” vocabulary. In September 2015, Google relaunched the app with an expanded set of lessons that includes basic and more advanced topics such as mobile site design, search advertising or programmatic buying.

The lessons are divided in four categories: Advertising, Content, Measurement and Strategy. Each lessons take between 3 to 5 minutes, and include short questions to make sure the reader understood the lesson’s contents. Google indicated that every week, more lessons will be introduced, by industry experts and Google itself, with the goal of bringing all marketers up to speed with the tools and skills that help them do their job.

The lessons can be viewed offline and the app is currently available on Android and iOS.
